Both workshops will present the same information and include child care and translation services.

Gilroy is projected for continued growth in both population and jobs between now and the year 2040, the year the city's general plan is based through. Workshop participants will be asked to share their ideas on where and how future growth should occur. Three alternative land use plans representing different future development patterns will be presented. Participants will be asked to select their preferred land use alternative for Gilroy.

The preferred land-use alternative will become the city’s official land use map and will be supported by the policies and implementation programs of the new General Plan.

The city encourages all those interested in helping to shape Gilroy’s future to attend one of the community workshops and to also participate in the Your Voice forum. Additional information about the workshop and the 2040 General Plan is posted on the project website at www.gilroy2040.com/.
