Gilroy Gang Homicide Sparks Community Safety Meeting

After a man was shot on Chestnut Street on April 4, the police department planned a meeting to let residents know about local safety measures.

Police are responding proactively and on multiple levels to the gang-related shooting that left one dead and one injured last week in Gilroy.

On April 10 from 7 - 8:30 p.m., police, along with the school district, the City and the gang task force, will hold a community meeting at Eliot Elementary School to discuss local safety measures.

The meeting is meant "to inform parents and community members about this recent act of violence and to discuss how we can all help to keep our neighborhood safe," Sgt. Pedro Espinoza said via Nixle alert.
