Gilroy Gunshots Results In Arrest Of 2 Men, 1 Teen: SCC Sheriff's

GILROY, CA — Two men and a juvenile were apprehended Saturday night when a resident outside Morgan Hill heard gunshots and police recovered a cache of firearms.

Santa Clara County Sheriff's deputies responded and saw a vehicle with no headlights on driving away from the neighborhood near Oak Glen Avenue in unincorporated Morgan Hill.

A patrol sergeant attempted to stop the vehicle, which lead to a short pursuit.

The suspect vehicle spun out of control and struck a curb. Two of the three occupants ran away from the vehicle and the third suspect was immediately taken into custody.

Officers with the Morgan Hill Police Department assisted and located the two fleeing suspects hiding in nearby bushes. The suspects were later identified as Fili Alfaro, 18, and Daniel Villarreal, 18. The third suspect whose identity is undisclosed is 17 years old.

Deputies found a loaded handgun, assault rifle and ammunition in the vehicle. Alfaro and Villarreal were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail and the teenager was taken to Juvenile Hall. All suspects are facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.
