Gilroy Highway Reopens After Semi-Truck Catches Fire: Photos
A commercial vehicle carrying 1,000 gallons of cooking oil caught fire, closing Highway 152/10th Street on Wednesday.

GILROY, CA — All lanes on Highway 152/10th Street in Gilroy reopened on Thursday morning after a semi-truck caught fire early Wednesday morning shut down the roadway.
The incident closed the roadway between Camino Arroyo and Highway 101 until Thursday morning while Caltrans conducted repairs, which included repaving the roadway, according to an alert by the Gilroy Police Department.
No injuries were reported from the fire. According to the Gilroy Firefighters Association, a commercial vehicle carrying 1,000 gallons of cooking oil caught fire. The fire was contained in around three hours.

Gilroy police reported the roadway was reopened around 7:45 a.m. Thursday.
