Gilroy Police To Step Up Enforcement Of Illegal Fireworks

GILROY, CA — Gilroy officials reminded residents ahead of July 4th against using illegal fireworks, which could result in fines of $1,000, with subsequent violations starting at $2,000 and other criminal citations.

Gilroy officers will step up enforcement through the July 4th weekend, including using footage from drones, according to the city.

Only fireworks deemed “safe and sane” are allowed in Gilroy in designated areas from July 1st through July 4th.
