Gilroy Star Student Accepted By Prestigious University STEM Programs
Daniel was accepted to summer STEM programs at Brown University, New Mexico Tech, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

GILROY, CA — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

He is my son.
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Daniel was accepted to summer STEM programs at Brown University, New Mexico Tech, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The application process took into account his class workload, letters of recommendation, GPA and math level. Last summer Daniel took math courses in summer school and at Brigham Young University to get ahead and be able to be in Calculus in his Junior year (Fall 2023) in high school. He has aspirations to become an Astrophysicist. Daniel likes to volunteer to do score keeping at Gilroy Prep School (K-8th school) and mentor younger kids at sports like Basketball. He worked at Gilroy Gardens in the games division to help little kids win prizes.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
Daniel likes to be a mentor to younger kids.
