Gilroy Woman Sentenced For Role In Capitol Siege: Report

GILROY, CA — A Gilroy woman was sentenced Wednesday to 45 days in prison after she joined hundreds of rioters to storm the Capitol on Jan. 6 of last year, NBC News reported

Mariposa Castro told a judge she was “sucked” in by “dark energy forces” the day she went live on Facebook and entered the U.S. Capitol building, NBC News reported. Castro pleaded guilty in November.

"I got caught up on the energy, and if I could go back and change things over, I definitely would have brought more peace," Castro said, according to the station.

U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton fined Castro $5,000 for “undermining” a peaceful transfer of power, NBC News Reported.
