Man Strangles Girlfriend Outside Chevy's, Flees on Foot
Isaac Barrios is accused of strangling and punching his girlfriend outside Chevy's on Saturday.

The Gilroy Police Department is requesting that the DA's office issue an arrest warrant for Isaac Barrios, a Gilroy man accused of assaulting his girlfriend outside Chevy's on Saturday.
Barrios, 21, got into an argument inside the restaurant with his girlfriend of three years, police records show.
The couple then exited the eatery and got into a car, where Barrios is accused of punching the victim and strangling her to the point that she could not breathe, Sgt. Pedro Espinoza said.

"When the victim attempted to call 911, Barrios grabbed the phone and threw it, breaking the phone," police records say.
Barrios then fled the scene on foot and has not yet been apprehended.

According to Espinoza, the victim successfully got a restraining order against Barrios while authorities attempt to locate him.
