Meat Thief Grabs $700 Of Beef from Morgan Hill Store

Morgan Hill police are posting images of a man who allegedly stole hundreds of dollars of beef from a local store. Do you know him?

MORGAN HILL - It's what's for dinner.

Morgan Hill police are circulating images of a man who allegedly stole hundreds of dollars of beef from a local store, hoping someone will ID him.

According to police, the man in the photographs on Monday stole over $700 worth of beef from Safeway at 840 E. Dunne Ave, including including rib-eye steak, ham and other items.

Bay City News reports an employee saw the suspect filling reusable bags with meat inside the store Monday afternoon. When the employee confronted the man with a shopping cart, BCN reports the man jerked the cart away and continued filling his white 2002 Saturn registered in Gilroy.

Police say the man simply ignored employees taking pictures of him during the theft.

In one photo, you can clearly see the license plate of the Saturn into which the suspect loaded his haul. It shows California license #5XEY084, with a Saturn of Stevens Creek plate holder.

Police describe the suspect as early to mid 40's, about 5 ft, 8 inches, and weighing around 170 pounds, BCN reports.

The man wore a black baseball cap with the words "San Francisco" in white written on the front, a black and white checkered button-up shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
