New Crosswalk Near Gilroy High School Is Near Completion: City

GILROY, CA — A new crosswalk near Gilroy High School is nearly complete, according to the city.

Construction of the crosswalk, intended to provide a safer crossing for students, began in July at the intersection of 10th Street and Orchard Drive. The concrete and striping work have been completed, according to the city.

Installation of a new rectangular rapid-flashing beacon hasn’t been completed yet due to manufacturing delays, the city said.

The city asked residents to slow down, use caution and stop for pedestrians — especially students — when driving in the area.
