New Library Sunday Hours Planned For Gilroy, Campbell
The Santa Clara County Library District will start seven-day-a-week services for all its libraries on March 17.
GILROY, CA -- The day of rest may be a day of reading. The Santa Clara County Library District is fulfilling a multi-year goal to add Sundays to its schedule for locations in Gilroy and Campbell.
Starting on March 17, the district will keep open all of its libraries seven days a week, with the addition of four new service hours from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the two Santa Clara County libraries.
“Working patrons and parents have asked our libraries for additional service hours on the weekend when they are more available to visit the library with their families and browse our collections,” Deputy County Librarian Chris Brown said.

“I am proud of our most recent accomplishment offering seven-days-a-week service for all of our libraries,” said county Supervisor Mike Wasserman, who also serves as the library Joint Powers Authority Board chairman. “Learning does not stop during weekends, so why should libraries?”
On March 31, the Campbell Library will celebrate the additional hours of service with a special performance by Germar the Magician at 1:30 pm.; while Gilroy library’s festivities will feature The Great Jonathan magician at 3:30 pm.
