• Silver Alert issued for missing woman in Monterey and Santa Cruz counties (ksbw.com) — Authorities have issued a Silver Alert for 82-year-old Karin Godfrey, a Gilroy woman last seen Friday evening on 4th Street in San Jose and believed to be driving a brown 2003 Buick LeSabre. The alert spans multiple Bay Area counties, and residents are urged to call 911 immediately if they spot her or her vehicle.
   

• San Jose family ran network of brothels earning $1M yearly, prosecutors say (localnewsmatters.org) — Authorities say a Santa Clara County human-trafficking investigation uncovered a network of alleged brothels, including at least one operating under a massage-parlor front in Gilroy. Prosecutors have charged several family members with dozens of felonies and seized more than $1.25 million in suspected proceeds. Investigators identified over 40 women, and county hotlines are available for anyone in Gilroy needing trafficking-related help or to share tips.
   

• Update: Earthquake struck region close to Gilroy, CA on Dec. 15 - 2.0 magnitude reported (sacbee.com) — A small 2.0-magnitude earthquake was recorded about six miles east of Gilroy early Monday morning, but it was likely too weak for most people to feel. Officials are reminding residents how to stay safe during future quakes, including drop-cover-hold tips and how to file a USGS “Did You Feel It?” report.
