Police Searching For Suspect in Armed Robbery
The man is suspected of robbing a check-cashing business on Church Street.
Detectives from the Gilroy Police Department are working to track down a man who is suspected of robbing a check-cashing business Wednesday morning, according to police spokesman, Sgt. Chad Gallacinao.
The man had brandished a “stabbing instrument” while confronting a clerk of Advance America at 8401 Church St., fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of money, the spokesman said. Police received a 911 call reporting the incident at 10:18 a.m.
The suspect also fled with the weapon, which has not been recovered, said Gallacinao.

Police describe the suspect as a man who was wearing a beanie hat, black hooded sweatshirt, faded blue jeans and gloves.
