Pregnant Woman Killed In Head-On Crash
The crash was caused by the driver in the other vehicle, according to the CHP.

GILROY, CA — A 29-year-old pregnant woman died in a crash near Gilroy on Wednesday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported at 6:37 p.m. on Leavesley Road east of New Avenue.
Investigators determined that a 50-year-old man was speeding east in a 2008 GMC truck on Leavesley when the truck veered into the westbound lane in the path of a 2021 Chevrolet SUV, resulting in a head-on crash that also involved a 2020 Honda sedan traveling west behind the Chevrolet, CHP officials said.

The 29-year-old woman was a passenger in the Chevrolet and died as a result of the crash. Her name was not immediately available as of Thursday afternoon.
The CHP said alcohol may have played a role in the crash but did not say whether anyone was arrested in the case. Anyone with information or dash cam footage related to the collision is asked to contact the agency's Hollister-Gilroy area office at (408) 427-0700.
