“Polio anywhere is a threat everywhere, and Rotarians worldwide have long worked to end this paralyzing virus, which will be only the second human disease ever to be eradicated,” said Robert Harris, president of Rotary Napa Sunrise Club.

Since launching its PolioPlus program in 1985, Rotary has contributed over US$2.9 billion and countless volunteer hours to fight polio. The Global Polio Eradication Initiative, formed in 1988 with partners like the World Health Organization and the Gates Foundation, has reduced polio cases by over 99.9%.
