Sandbag Station Open In Gilroy As Rain Pelts South County

GILROY, CA — The sandbag station in Gilroy is open outside the gate of the Gilroy Corporation Yard at 613 Old Gilroy Street as South County and the rest of the Bay Area is hit by another rainstorm going into Christmas weekend.

The strongest rain appears to be set for Thursday, with forecasts predicting a 100 percent chance of rain and possibly over an inch of rain expected.

Christmas day also appears to be a wet one, with a 90 percent chance of rain and a quarter of an inch expected.

Residents were advised to bring their own shovels to the sandbag site.
