Second Fatal Victim Identified In Amtrak Train Strike

The two victims were allegedly trespassing on the tracks at the time the train was passing through Gilroy.

GILROY, CA -- A second person who was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Gilroy last week has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.

Claudia Isabel Mora Rivera, 45, a transient from Gilroy, was hit by a Seattle-bound Amtrak Coast Starlight train around 7:25 p.m. on Feb. 28, officials said.

The other person was identified as 52-year-old Cayetano Cruz Guzman on Thursday. Amtrak officials said the two victims were trespassing on the tracks at the time of the collision. None of the 86 passengers or crew members were injured, and the train was stopped for about five hours.
