SJ Motorcyclist Killed Speeding, Colliding With Vehicle Rear
The crash occurred Saturday on U.S. Highway 101 south of East Dunne Avenue when the motorcycle rider was unable to stop in time.
GILROY, CA -- A San Jose man riding a motorcycle was killed Saturday when he struck a vehicle on U.S. Highway 101 in Morgan Hill, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The 30-year-old man, whose identity is undisclosed, was heading northbound on his 2011 Yamaha motorcycle on the highway south of East Dunne Avenue at 5:10 p.m. when he collided into the rear of a 2005 Chevy Silverado driven by Marlyn Meza of San Jose. Meza was slowing for traffic, but the motorcycle was traveling too fast to stop. The force of the collision ejected the rider from the bike into the northbound traffic lanes.
He died at Regional Medical Center of San Jose.

His sobriety remains in question. Meza was not under the influence.
