Street Improvements Coming To Many Gilroy Roads, Curbs

Segments of 138 streets in the city are slated for improvements through the city's pavement maintenance project.

GILROY, CA — Gilroy’s 2022 Citywide Pavement Maintenance Project is expected to begin this summer, with work slated to improve segments of 138 streets in the city.

The project received $3.9 million in funds and is intended to improve the safety and accessibility of Gilroy’s streets through repairing potholes and doing minor paving.

The city used a Pavement Management Program developed by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission to determine which streets to improve. Along with streets, the project is expected to repair 67 curb ramps.

Streets selected for improvement include: Monterey Road, Farrell Avenue, Camino Arroyo, Murray Avenue, 8th Street, Chestnut Street, Martin Street and San Ysidro Avenue.
