Suspect Arrested, Accused Of Burglary In Morgan Hill

The resident locked herself in the bathroom while calling Morgan Hill police to report the burglary in progress.

MORGAN HILL, CA -- Officers responded to a burglary in progress and chased down a woman attempted to flee the scene on Saturday, Morgan Hill police reported Monday.

The 18-year-old woman identified as Jessica Esparza Andrade was arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of stolen property.

The 3:45 p.m. call was made by the resident when she said she saw a woman lurking in her back yard then heard a window breaking at her home on Tilton Avenue in Morgan Hill. She locked herself in the bathroom while calling police.

As police units arrived at the residence, it was determined the female suspect was still inside the home. Officers developed a perimeter and waited for additional resources. The suspect then exited the residence through the front door carrying a bag of stolen property, Morgan Police said.

The suspect attempted to run from the police but was quickly taken into custody. Andrade was treated for her injuries and later booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.
