Wanted Gilroy Man Arrested After Police Chase

The 31-year-old was hospitalized for injuries suffered during the arrest.

GILROY, CA — A Gilroy man was arrested Friday evening in his hometown after he allegedly fled from police and was apprehended by a K-9, a police sergeant said. Jose Solorio, 31, was spotted by officers at about 5:15 p.m. and was arrested at East Seventh and Chestnut streets after an alleged chase that went through east Gilroy, Sgt. Mike McMahon said.

Officers knew Solorio was wanted on felony warrants and he allegedly fled when he saw police, McMahon said.

Solorio was injured during the arrest. He was taken to a hospital. McMahon said no one else was injured.
