County Gas Prices Continue to Rise

Expect prices to continue to hike at the pump, say industry insiders.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose 1.4 cents today to $4.056, the largest daily increase since June 22.

The average price is 1.7 cents more than one week ago, 6.3 cents higher than one month ago and 36.4 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
According to Gasbuddy.com, the cheapest gas in Glendora is at Arco, 113 E Arrow Hwy, and Sam's Club, 1301 S Lone Hill Ave., at $3.83 per unleaded gallon.

The Orange County average price also recorded its largest increase since June 22 today, rising 1.6 cents to $4.042, 2.5 cents more than one week ago, 7.8 cents higher than one month ago and 39.9 cents greater than one year ago.

The pump price could continue to rise because of an approximately 40-cent per gallon increase in the last two weeks in the wholesale cost of gasoline, stemming from concerns over supplies caused by "exports of refine gasoline to more profitable markets overseas and continued refinery issues,'' according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
