Glendora Teacher’s Arrest Part of International Crackdown on Child Exploitation

ICE agents say John David Boyle, 49, was one of 255 people arrested as part of a worldwide investigation to track child sexual predators.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement says 255 people were arrested as part of an international child exploitation investigation, including John David Boyle, a 49-year-old Royal Oak Middle School teacher from Glendora, Calif.

There were 61 child victims indentified as part of Operation iGuardian, the massive five-week sting that ended June 30.  Twenty people were charged with online sexual enticement of a minor, while the rest were charged with child pornography production and distribution, traveling with the intent to have sex with a minor and rape.

Agents say they made three high-profiled arrests during the investigation, including Boyle who recently pled not guilty to several sexual offenses involving minors, which included sexual molestation; Jimmy Caraballo-Colon, 25, a former high school cheerleading coach from Puerto Rico; and Eduardo Arturo Romero Barrios, 33, a Mexican national.

"Children and parents need to understand that not everyone online is who they say they are," ICE Director John Morton said in a press release. "Child abusers prowl social media looking for opportunities to force young people into sexual exploitation through guile, deceit, and extortion."
