Police Blotter: A Double Homicide, Distraction Burglars and a Bank Robbery

Local Glendora Police activity for Aug. 12 to Aug. 18

The following information was provided by the Glendora Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Aug. 12

3 p.m. A transient was arrested after physically assaulting another transient in the 900 block of S. Grand Avenue. Gary Hundermark, 42, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

5:18 p.m. RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY REPORT: 700 block of E. Carroll Ave.

Wednesday, Aug. 14

3:24 a.m. INJURY TRAFFIC COLLISION: 700 block of E. Gladstone St.

8:31 a.m. BURGLARY INVESTIGATION REPORT: 200 block of N. Glendora Ave.

8 a.m. Glendora Police sent out an advisory warning residents about distraction burglars operating in the area.  Police later said that a group of men posing as tree trimmers stole valuables and money from the home of an elderly couple.

2:01 p.m. GRAND THEFT AUTO REPORT: 700 block W. Route 66

4:23 p.m. GRAND THEFT AUTO REPORT: 1300 block E. Gladstone St.

7:18 p.m. John Mitchell Bolton, 52, of Glendora, was arrested at 587 W. Park View on vandalism charges.

Thursday, Aug. 15

2 a.m. A patrolling officer discovered two bodies at a Glendora car wash. The two homeless men, John Anthony Welch and Warren Jay Blagrave, were victims of multiple stab wounds. Drew Friis, 28, of Glendora, was charged with their murders.
8:27 a.m. GRAFFITI REPORT:  S. Bender Avenue and Gladstone St.

Friday, Aug. 16

12:35 a.m. A man was killed and a 19-year-old woman suffered serious injuries when their vehicle plunged off of Glendora Ridge Road in the Angeles National Forest, according to the CHP. The explosion from the crash sparked a small wildfire.

3:03 a.m. PROWLER: 200 block N. Morgan Ranch Rd.

9:04 a.m. Police are searching for a man suspected of robbing a U.S. Bank in Glendora.

9:50 a.m. GRAND THEFT: 600 block W. Armstead St.

12:05 p.m. VEHICLE BURGLARY INVESTIGATION: 1300 block E. Gladstone St.

11:10 p.m. Two men were arrested after they attempted to flee a DUI checkpoint in San Dimas in a car stashed with a gun and drugs. They abandoned their car in the 500 block of Essex in Glendora.

 Saturday, Aug. 17

3:39 p.m. VANDALISM REPORT: 900 block E. Walnut Ave.

7:27 p.m. Kathleen Ellen Miller, 56, of Glendora, was arrested at Lone Hill Blvd. and Marketplace on DUI charges.

Sunday, Aug. 18

6:18 a.m. INJURY TRAFFIC COLLISION: 700 block Mauna Loa Ave.

7:25 p.m. Tyler Thomas Davidson, 21, of Glendora, was arrested and Cullen Avenue and Foothill Blvd. on DUI charges.
