Workshop Aims to Provide Local Businesses Tools For Success
The City of Glendora will host a free workshop providing tips on how to create an effective business plan.

If you’re thinking of starting your own business in Glendora, there are a few basic items you will need to know, according to a free business workshop coordinated by the City of Glendora.
Set for Aug. 9 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Glendora Public Library’s Bidwell Forum, the second workshop in the city’s business series will focus on steps to developing a strong business plan.
“Whether looking to start a new business, grow an existing business or secure a business loan, having a current and effective business plan is a key factor,” according to Glendora's Economic Development Specialist Valerie Escalante.

The workshop will be presented by Dr. Tom Buckles, Associate Professor at Azusa Pacific University who has researched and published articles on marketing, e-commerce and service quality. The workshop will also cover business planning, marketing and management and provide tools for creating an effective business plan.
The first workshop in the series held in March focused on how owners can maximize social media to promote their businesses.

The business workshops are a part of the city’s Economic Action Plan, which has been dedicated to improving the success rate of local businesses. Registration to the workshop is required for participation.
