3 Assault Rifles, Illegal Fireworks Prompt Arrest Of Felon: Sheriff
The Sheriff's Office Bomb Unit helped remove the fireworks.
HALF MOON BAY, CA — A man was arrested Monday night at his home in Half Moon Bay following a Child Protective Services report that ultimately led sheriff’s deputies to finding illegal fireworks, firearms and gun parts.
Marcel T. Dodge, 41, was taken into custody by San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputies on suspicion of possessing fireworks without a permit, firearms violations and other related charges, a San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office press release stated.
Due to the large amount of fireworks, the bomb unit assisted in removing dozens of them.

The investigation began on March 29 when sheriff's deputies responded to a welfare check and CPS report on Wavecrest Road in Half Moon Bay, authorities said.
The investigation led to deputies obtaining a search warrant for several locations associated with Dodge, a previously convicted felon.

Inside his residence, deputies found not only the fireworks but multiple illegal firearms, including three assault rifles, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, an illegal ballistic vest, and gun parts, according to the press release.
Dodge was arrested and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility.
