51st Half Moon Bay Ol' Fashioned 4th of July Parade Expands

Pancake Breakfast, Block Party & Festival Bring an Even Bigger Bang to This Year's Independence Day Celebration

Half Moon Bay’s Ol’ Fashioned 4th of July Parade Committee announced this year’s traditional parade celebration is expanding with a full day of activities including the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast, festive Block Party presented by the Coastside Chamber, and 4th of July Festival presented by the IDES Society with food and drink, artisan booths, kids activities and live music.

PARADE DETAILS
Let the good times roll! This year marking it’s 51st rendition, Half Moon Bay's beloved Ol' Fashioned 4th of July Parade & Block Party takes over Main Street, transforming the charming downtown into a festive Red, White and Blue celebration.

Starting at 12 noon, the time-honored, home-spun parade, fronted by the San Mateo County Sheriffs and CalFire, celebrates classic small town American spirit with an entertaining array of whimsical floats, marching bands, community service groups, classically cool cars like Half Moon Bay Winery's 1929 Ford Model A Pickup Truck, decorated trikes and bikes, parading pooches, youth sports teams, dance and theatre troupes, a Color Guard by the American Legion, and local dignitaries and celebrities slowly winding their way through the crowded downtown along Main Street between Filbert and Mill Streets. Honoring Half Moon Bay’s western heritage and always a parade highlight, there will be a large number of equine entries. For many locals, it’s one of their favorite events of the year. Half Moon Bay’s famous, 40-member strong “Sitting Marching Band” will be in their usual perch at Main and Kelly playing an array of patriotic ballads during the parade.
The parade is sponsored by the Half Moon Bay Beautification Committee and Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival.
