'Ghost Gun,' Meth And Ammunition Found On Man In San Mateo County: Police
A routine traffic stop revealed the passenger was carrying a multitude of illegal items, police said.
HALF MOON BAY, CA — Police said a typical traffic stop for expired registration turned into a felony search once officers realized who was riding shotgun Sunday in Half Moon Bay.
San Mateo Sheriff's Deputies said at around 11:45 p.m. on Sunday they pulled over a car with expired registration on the 100 block of San Mateo Road in Half Moon Bay.
Police said they learned the passenger, Scott T. Campbell Jr., 33, of Chino, was on probation and subject to search.

Deputies said they found Campbell was in possession of an unserialized gun, an extended magazine, several live rounds of ammunition, suspected methamphetamine, syringes, a glass pipe, gun parts and accessories.
Police said they booked Campbell into the Maguire Correctional Facility on six felony and two misdemeanor charges.

The driver was cited for having a suspended license, police said.
