"Growing up in the coastside as a Latino/Hispanic has not always been easy. As a kid I didn’t have the luxury to do the things I wanted or have the things other kids had," Acosta told Patch. "Though this taught me a valuable lesson. If you want something in life you have to take risk and work really hard for what you’re truly passionate about and have the support from the right people in life."

Acosta grew up in El Granada with a passion for art. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he began reflecting and that ultimately sparked the creation of Foggy Clothing.

"I created Foggy Clothing out of desperation, and out of the desire to bring value to the world," Acosta told Patch. "I had a lot of time to think about what I really wanted in life or what I wanted to pursue."

What began as a personal outlet has since grown quickly into a powerful movement, said Krystlyn Giedt, Half Moon Bay Coastside Chamber of Commerce CEO.

"I think what separates me from other brands is that I’m not just trying to make money. I’m trying to spread awareness, positivity and a symbol of proof," Acosta told Patch. "You don’t have to be someone 'special,' because I believe we are all unique in our own ways. We all have different strengths and weaknesses. But at the end of the day, we are all human."
