Healdsburg:
SingleThread Restaurant & Inn, located at 131 North Street, Healdsburg. A three-time Michelin Star winner, OpenTable editors say “few restaurants can rival the accolades of this Wine Country powerhouse: Three MICHELIN Stars, a Green Star for sustainability, and a spot on the coveted World's 50 Best Restaurants list. That's because chef Kyle Connaughton and head farmer Katina Connaughton have put together a one-of-a-kind experience that includes a 10-course Kaiseki-style menu that draws largely from the restaurant's lush 24-acre farm in Dry Creek Valley.”
Oakland:
Sun Moon Studio, located at 1940 Union Street, Suite 21, Oakland. OpenTable editors say of this first-year Michelin Star winner: “Sun Moon Studio landed in West Oakland with a bang in 2024, when The San Francisco Chronicle crowned this tiny tasting menu destination the Bay Area’s best new restaurant—and MICHELIN quickly followed with a coveted Star. Alan Hsu and Sarah Cooper, Benu and Per Se alums respectively, put seasonal California ingredients front and center in dishes like Monterey spot prawn with tofu and bold desserts like shiso ice cream at this intimate, four-table spot that's leveled up the Bay Area's elite fine-dining scene.”
San Francisco:
Gary Danko, located at 800 N. Point Street, San Francisco. According to Open Table, “Twenty-six years after opening its doors in San Francisco’s iconic Fisherman’s Wharf neighborhood, Restaurant Gary Danko continues to refine its award-winning combination of classic French cooking, thoughtful and inventive use of local ingredients and personable yet impeccable service. This commitment to excellence and innovation has earned Restaurant Gary Danko a Grand Award from Wine Spectator, its Five Diamond rating from AAA as well as a coveted Relais & Châteaux designation. The restaurant has also earned several James Beard Awards, including Best New Restaurant, Best Service and Best Chef - California.”
House of Prime Rib, located at 1906 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco. OpenTable editors say this restaurant, open since 1949, is “a legendary destination is the king of San Francisco steakhouses. From luxurious carved-to-order prime rib rolled out on carts to chefs spinning salads to extra-large martinis with sidecars, every meal in the restaurant’s old-school dining room decked with ruby-hued booths is rollicking and unforgettable.”
Kokkari Estiatorio, located at 200 Jackson Street, San Francisco. Looking for a special occasion restaurant or a charming spot for a business meal? Look no further, OpenTable editors say. “Kokkari (pronounced “Ko-Kar-ee”) is a small fishing village located on the islands of Samos in the Aegean Sea, whose name is derived from the small onions that were once produced in the nearby fields. Its fertile soil and Mediterranean climate translated into an abundance of fresh produce as well as treasured seafood and game. Legend tells that Kokkari is the site where Orion, a mighty hunter and a young man of gigantic stature and great beauty, fell in love with the daughter of the king of Chios. For the love of her, Orion forged the island for wild game and seafood to prepare elaborate banquets in celebration of their love. Today, we hope you will enjoy your own celebration as you dine at Kokkari Estiatorio on food “fit for the Gods” prepared with an Aegean palate and the style of innovative California fare.”
The Progress, located at 1525 Fillmore Street in San Francisco. A three-time Michelin Star winner, OpenTable editors dished on The Progress, saying “From the bright, two-story space to the shareable California-inspired plates, this MICHELIN-Starred spot from James Beard Award winners Nicole Krasinski and Stuart Brioza lives up to its motto: the greatest dinner party ever. Start with the whimsical caviar potato “cloud” before digging into show-stopping dishes like the Liberty Farm duck topped with crispy peanut fried rice—you won’t be disappointed.”
