Big Rig Spills 10,000 Empty Bottles Of Wine Onto U.S. Highway 101
Extensive cleanup was underway several hours after the semi-truck flipped onto its side, the California Highway Patrol said.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Major cleanup and guardrail repair were still taking place several hours after a big rig flipped over and landed on its side on U.S. Highway 101 in northern Sonoma County, spilling 10,000 empty wine bottles onto the roadway, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash was reported at 12:49 p.m. Monday at northbound US 101 at Geyserville Avenue and a Sig-alert was issued at 1:34 p.m.
No other vehicles were involved and the driver was not injured, the CHP said in a social media post.

As of 6 p.m. Monday, the right lane was still closed. Traffic was light so CHP asked drivers to slow down as they approached and passed the scene.
