Construction Begins On Windsor SMART Extension
Work on the railway was expected to be underway at the start of the year, according to an update from SMART.

WINDSOR, CA — Work got underway this month on the SMART rail extension to Windsor, the Sonoma -Marin Area Rail Transit District announced.
The fully funded project entails completing the railway from Airport Boulevard in Santa Rosa to Windsor, where a new SMART station will be constructed near Windsor Town Green.
The contractor for the project, Stacy and Witbeck Inc., was scheduled to begin mobilizing in early January, SMART said in an update on its website.

Earthwork for the station platform was supposed to have started in early January, with the timing of all construction activities dependent on weather conditions.
