Coroner IDs Woman Struck, Killed On U.S. Hwy 101 In Cloverdale
Authorities have identified the pedestrian who was fatally struck late Sunday night.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office has identified a pedestrian who was hit and killed by a vehicle on U.S. Highway 101 late Sunday night as Peggy Hendrix, 55, of Santa Rosa. Hendrix was in the center divider when she crossed east to west in the southbound lanes of the highway near Cloverdale Boulevard South around 11:30 p.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Jon Sloat said.
A 21-year-old Ukiah man who was driving a 1995 BMW 525i at about 70 mph south on Highway 101 did not see the woman, who stepped directly in his path, Sloat said.
Neither drugs nor alcohol on the driver's part are suspected as factors in the collision, Sloat said.

The CHP did not locate a vehicle at the scene that was associated with Hendrix, Sloat said.
The collision closed southbound Highway 101 until around 6 a.m. Monday.
