Evacuation Warning Lifted For Russian River Area
The warning was in place for nearly a week because of the possibility of the river flooding.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA ā The evacuation warning that was put into place last Wednesday for the Russian River has been lifted, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday.
According to the county, the Russian River at 2 a.m. Tuesday crested at 31.7 feet, just below the 32-foot flood stage, allowing the warnings to be lifted for residents near the river's floodway and its tributaries south of Healdsburg to Jenner.
As of 11:15 a.m., there were no longer any evacuation orders or warnings for unincorporated areas of the county, the sheriff's office said in a Nixle alert.

"Please be aware that flooded creeks and downed trees may cause road closures," the sheriff's office said. "Road and utility crews are still working to repair damage throughout the county."

For people who had evacuated or need support, a shelter is available at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa.
