Federally Funded Road Projects in Geyserville to be Celebrated Friday

Sonoma County officials and the Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians on Friday will commemorate the completion of two road projects funded by grants from the federal government.

The $400,000 grant allocated by the Federal Highway Administration was used to repave nearly a mile of Geyserville Avenue between Banti Lane and state Highway 128 in Geyserville and 1.34 miles of Lytton Station Road between Lytton Springs Road and Healdsburg Avenue in Alexander Valley.

Both projects were completed earlier this month and a ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Geyserville Avenue and Banti Lane.

Sonoma County and the Pomo Indian tribe were partners in the road improvement projects. The tribe operates the River Rock Casino in Geyserville.

Geyserville Avenue is one of the main roads to the Dry Creek Rancheria.
