Healdsburg Celebrates Opening Of L&M Village
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the program that provides interim housing for the homeless and helps get them on their feet.

HEALDSBURG, CA ā The City of Healdsburg and its partners, Reach for Home, the State of California, Burbank Housing, and Sonoma County, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday to celebrate the opening of L&M Village, which is Northern Sonoma County's first interim housing program.
The former motel at 70 Healdsburg Ave. provides 22 units of interim housing for the most vulnerable and marginalized and helps get them into permanent housing.
Special guest speakers at the event included Gustavo Velasquez, the director of the California Department of Housing and Community Development; and Sonoma County 4th District Supervisor James Gore. Also in attendance were Kai Cooper on behalf of state Sen. Mike McGuire; Will Tesconi representing State Assemblyman Jim Wood; and current and past Healdsburg City Councilmembers.

L&M Village was approved in December 2021 for Homekey funding from the state of California. The City of Healdsburg and Reach for Home were awarded $7 million from the state to transform the hotel into an interim housing site for Healdsburgās chronically homeless. In March 2022, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors allocated $950,000 in capital funds for L&M Village.
