Healdsburg Police Make Arrest In Community Center Stabbing
Nearly one year after the attack, Healdsburg police went to the South Bay and arrested the suspect who was living under an alias.

HEALDSBURG, CA—An arrest has been made in an April 2024 stabbing outside the Healdsburg Community Center, the Healdsburg Police Department recently announced.
Damian Martines-Osorio, 30, of Healdsburg was arrested March 12 following an extensive investigation that led officers to Los Gatos, where Martines-Osorio was living under an alias. Upon being contacted by officers from the Healdsburg and Los Gatos police departments, Martines-Osorio tried to run but was captured while trying to jump over a fence, Healdsburg police said.
"The Healdsburg Police Department is glad to be able to bring closure to this case," the department said on social media.

Healdsburg police responded around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2024, to a call from a man who was attacked in the parking lot of the Healdsburg Community Center at 1557 Healdsburg Ave. The victim told police he was sitting in his car when he noticed a person slashing car tires.
The victim said when he got out of his car, the suspect tried to stab him with a knife and a struggle ensued. The victim suffered a cut to his hand and was chased by the suspect for a short distance before the suspect took off into the creek bed along Foss Creek Pathway, police said.

Officers searched the area for three hours with the help of Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies and a California Highway Patrol helicopter crew but did not find the suspect.
Within a week, Healdsburg police identified Martinez Osorio— also known as Gael Leon—as the suspect wanted on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and the vandalism of multiple vehicles.
Following his arrest March 12, Martines-Osorio was booked in the Sonoma County jail on a no-bail hold for charges stemming from this case as well as three other outstanding warrants. He remained in custody this week without bail, with a court appearance set for April 7.
