Major Outage Impacts Healdsburg On Easter Sunday

The widespread electricity outage happened midday and affected the downtown area.

HEALDSBURG, CA — A major electrical outage Easter Sunday in the downtown area of Healdsburg lasted about two hours.

The city sent a Nixle alert about the outage at 11:40 a.m. Sunday and said some traffic lights were affected.

In a 1 p.m. update, the city said most customers were restored except the businesses along Center Street facing the Plaza and the Community Center. Electric was restored within about 45 minutes to those remaining customers.

The city of Healdsburg has its own electric department that provides power to nearly 6,000 meters. There are 12 employees of the department.
