Santa Rosa Fire Disaster Recovery Center Set To Open

BREAKING: Local Assistance Centers are being transitioned to serve as Disaster Recovery Centers.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Two Local Assistance Centers for wildfire victims in Sonoma County are transitioning to Disaster Recovery Centers Sunday morning. The centers are located at the Press Democrat building, 427 Mendocino Ave. in Santa Rosa and the Hanna Boys Center, 17000 Arnold Drive near Sonoma.

The centers will provide information about state and federal aid, and representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency will provide information about disaster assistance programs and help residents apply for aid.

Residents should register with FEMA before visiting one of the two centers if possible. To register visit DisasterAssistance.gov or call the FEMA helpline at (800) 621-3362 between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. seven days a week.

The deadline to apply for FEMA grant assistance is Dec. 11.

The Disaster Recovery Centers provide services involving the Department of Motor Vehicles, Small Business Administration, housing assistance, Department of Insurance, Sonoma County Department of Environmental Health and Safety, Employment Development Board, CalHR-State Job Applications, California Office of Emergency Services and Tzu Chi Association.
