Sonoma County Deputies Nab Serial Burglary Suspect

BREAKING: During a search of a Geyserville​ residence, detectives recovered evidence from numerous burglaries.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA -- A man believed to have committed multiple commercial burglaries in Sonoma County has been nabbed by Sheriff's deputies.

Over the past two weeks, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office's property crimes investigations unit had been investigating numerous commercial burglaries that occurred in multiple jurisdictions within the county. On January 4, the Sheriff’s Office released a video on Facebook, showing the suspect attempting to burglarize a convenience store in the Town of Windsor using a pry bar.

Then, on January 11, the Sheriff's Property Crimes Unit served a search warrant on a residence located in the 3300 block of Dry Creek Road in Geyserville, and based on the results of their investigation, detectives arrested David Benjamin Hill, 43, of Modesto.

During a search of the Geyserville residence, detectives recovered evidence from numerous burglaries, and Hill was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for commercial burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.

Hill was later released on $30,000 bail, but on January 12, the Santa Rosa Police Department Property Crimes Unit re-arrested Hill for a separate commercial burglary committed in its jurisdiction. Based on the number of commercial burglaries Hill is accused of committing in Sonoma County, his bail was increased to $250,000.
