Summer Swimming Opens At Healdsburg Veterans Memorial Beach
The seasonal dam was installed for the first time in three years. Lifeguards are on duty daily through Labor Day.

HEALDSBURG, CA — The swimming beach on the Russian River at Healdsburg Veterans Memorial Beach opened Friday, June 30 for the summer with river conditions suitable for wading, swimming and paddling, Sonoma County Regional Parks announced.
Regional Parks finished installing the seasonal dam on the river last week, creating a swimming area just downstream from the historic, steel-truss Memorial Bridge that spans the Russian River.
During the prior three years — 2020, 2021 and 2022 — the dam could not be installed because of water flow restrictions and pandemic impacts. However, water levels this year were high enough to allow the installation of the dam.
