Suspected DUI Driver Collides With Bus Stop, Fence: Police
Officers found a white Toyota Camry overturned near the intersection of West Steele Lane and Northcoast Street.

SANTA ROSA, CA ā A woman is accused of driving with a blood-alcohol content of more than twice the legal limit and colliding with a bus stop early Friday in Santa Rosa.
Dispatchers began receiving several 911 calls at 1:15 a.m. about the incident on West Steele Lane near Northcoast Street, Santa Rosa police said.
Officers and an accident investigator ā a special assignment where the police officer focuses their efforts on collision investigations and the apprehension of drunk drivers ā responded. They found a white Toyota Camry on its roof near the intersection of West Steele Lane and Northcoast Street.

The Camry had major front-end damage from colliding with a blue metal bus stop, police said.

The Camry continued through the bus stop and crashed into a fence for an apartment complex.

"There were indications that the driver, 49-year-old Santa Rosa resident Maricelia Roman, was driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage," Santa Rosa police Sgt. T. White said.

Roman was admitted to a hospital for treatment of injuries she suffered in the collision.
She submitted to a chemical test to determine the amount of alcohol in her system, which revealed a BAC of more than twice the legal limit, White said.
Roman was issued a promise to appear on suspicion of driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, driving with a blood alcohol level over .08 percent, and violation of probation (no use of alcohol).
"Additional charges will follow for the property that was damaged in the collision," White said.
