School Bomb Threat Unfounded, Sheriff's Office Says
The campus of Windsor Middle School was deemed safe following an extensive search.

WINDSOR, CA — The Windsor Police Department provided more details about a threat Thursday toward Windsor Middle School.
The threat was reported by a 911 caller at 11:22 a.m. who said he was on a social media site and heard someone talking about bombing local schools. When asked what school, the caller said Windsor Middle School.
The caller was not able to provide any further details, Windsor police Sgt. Jeff Toney said.

The Town of Windsor Police Department, deputies from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Main Office, and Sonoma County Fire responded to Windsor Middle School. The campus was immediately ordered to shelter in place while Windsor police secured the school and began investigating the source of the call.
A Nixle alert was issued at 12:21 p.m., notifying the public of the police activity and advising people to stay away from the area.

An extensive search was conducted of the campus at 9500 Brooks Road South.
"During the preliminary investigation, it was determined the threat was not credible," Toney said.
Windsor police worked with Windsor Middle School administrative staff to apprise parents of the situation and let them know they were allowed to pick up their children if they wished.
A follow-up Nixle alert was issued around 2 p.m. informing the public the threat was unfounded and the incident was resolved.
The Windsor Police Department was continuing to actively investigate the incident.
