HEALDSBURG, CA — Trail access at Fitch Mountain Park and Open Space Preserve is closed as work on long-awaited public access improvements gets underway, Healdsburg city officials said this week.

Because the construction project requires the use of heavy equipment and the hauling of materials, the city is required to close all trail access from the Villa Chanticleer lower and upper parking lots and from North Fitch Mountain Road. The main trail and all connection trails are inaccessible during construction.

To ensure safety, city officials said the public should not proceed past the closure signage or cross the construction fencing.
