Windsor Police Chase Wanted Man Across Highway 101
A wanted man from Hercules suddenly ran across the roadway and on to the freeway while speaking with a Windsor police officer on Wednesday.

WINDSOR - A man Windsor Police officers were speaking with in a parking lot on Hembree Lane suddenly broke away and ran across the roadway, and on to state Highway 101.
About 10:32 a.m. on Wednesday, Windsor Police say officers were in a parking lot on Hembree Lane when they noticed a man wanted by the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office speaking with a group of other people.
A deputy approached the group, and while he was speaking with them, police say the suspect, 50-year-old Anthony Monda, a Hercules resident, suddenly ran across the roadway and on to the freeway.

Additional deputies immediately responded to the scene, backed up by the sheriff’s helicopter, Henry-1.
Police say Monda man ran across all lanes of traffic and wound up on the west side of highway 101. Sheriff’s deputies chased the man, and saw him hide in a barn.

Police say Monda surrendered without incident, and was arrested.
Anthony Monda has a no bail warrant out of Contra Costa County for burglary and other related charges.
He was transported to Sonoma County Jail and booked for the outstanding warrant as well as a new charge of resisting arrest and misappropriating lost property.
