Chamber of Commerce Names Executive Director

The on Monday announced that its board of directors has selected Maureen Hunt to serve as the chamber's new executive director.

Hunt previously was the chamber's interim director—she stepped into the position following .

"This is an exciting time for the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce and we are pleased to name Maureen as our executive director," said board president Jed Sanford in a statement Monday. "As our interim director, Maureen has demonstrated her abilities and commitment to the changes our leadership expects. She is ready and has earned this position."

Previously, Hunt owned a North American Van Lines franchise, serving as a business owner for 23 years. She then served as communications director for four years at the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce.

In 2003, Hunt began working at the Hermosa Beach chamber as office manager. She then served as interim director since December last year.

The Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year.
