Christmas Trees Coming to Town
The Hermosa Beach Kiwanis Club is preparing to launch its annual tree lot on Nov. 25.
It’s almost time for Hermosa Beach to rock around the Christmas tree as the prepares to open its on Nov. 25.
Noble and Douglas firs, Rosemary trees, wreaths and garlands will be available to buy at the lot. Each year proceeds from the tree sales benefit local charities, such as the , , Relay for Life, and others.
"To ensure special holiday tidings, we even have the trees blessed by a Reverend from ," said Paul Amarillas in a statement Sunday. Paul co-manages the tree lot with his wife, Yvonne.

"It’s like going to a Christmas party," Paul said about the neighborhood tree lot. "A lot of our customers have such a great time they come back with their cameras year after year."
Growers ship their trees to the lot, which can be fireproofed and then delivered to your home after purchase. Volunteers maintain the lot throughout the holiday season.

"Better come early, last year we sold out way ahead of schedule," said Hermosa Kiwanis Club President Michael Goergen.
Starting the day after Thanksgiving, the tree lot will be open on the corner of Pier Avenue and PCH from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
