Umami Burger has created a more high-end version of its truffle burger, called the , which costs $100. The restaurant plans to open a Hermosa Beach location this year.

A has revealed that more Southern Californians prefer government to invest in public transportation investment over roads. Patch on Thursday asked what Hermosa Beach residents think deserves more attention, and one reader responded:

  • "I loved public transportation on trips to London and Paris, but I'm not sure I trust the LA Metro to spend my money. For instance, how do you make the Metro Green Line that goes all the way from the 605 Freeway to LAX and then turn it south to Redondo instead of going to the terminals? Explain that one and then I'll consider giving more money to public transit. Otherwise, it's just a bunch of fat cats ripping off the tax payers in the name of 'Public Transit.' " — wrote Tom French.
