Hermosa Beach Patch readers sound off on the plastic bag ban in unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County—should a similar law be in Hermosa?

A in unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County went into effect Friday. The Hermosa Beach Green Task Force has discussed in the past the idea of supporting a similar ban in Hermosa Beach—two Patch readers this week weighed in:
- "It drives me crazy when I go to certain businesses where they will automatically put my one little item in a big plastic bag until I tell them that I do not need a bag.....I always make sure I live by the following rule: If I can carry my stuff to the register, I can certainly carry it to my car or home without a plastic bag." — wrote
- "I support the ban 100 percent. It is frightening beyond words to know what we are doing to our planet with plastic bags. Plastic bottles should be on the list too, I get my drinking water in glass bottles." — wrote .
