Why go: Proceeds from (featuring the school's junior and senior students) benefit Sandpiper local charities.

Where and when: Avenue C and Esplanade, Redondo Beach; April 23, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why go: Fly a kite at for the whole family. There will be games, a picnic and, of course, lots of kite flying.
